Software Engineer - Tokyo
This position is based in Tokyo, Japan.
We are in need of software engineers to develop complex software systems for both internal and external use. Especially we are looking for passionate, well-rounded developers who are good at mathematics and/or bioinformatics to provide intelligence solutions to fundamental bioinformatics problems but also who thrive under the pressure of new environment in Japan and understand the need for prompt resolution of problems whenever they occur.
We also welcome developers who have excellent programming skills to innovate in a number of other areas as well.
Responsibilities:
- Work for at least 2 years in Japan.
- Work with other Japanese departmental engineers and/or work at our client site.
- Accept any sort of mobile projects.
- Manage projects from technical side.
Requirements (but not limited to):
- 5+ years working experience designing and building applications
- 2+ years working experience but studied statistic or bioinformatics, especially multiple classification analysis.
- Ability to document product specifications and functional requirements
- Ability to develop and document the high-level technical design
- Assist with the creation of development schedule and milestones
- Enthusiasm in R&D and creative application development
- Proficiency in Linux or Unix, as well as Windows
- Knowledge, proficiency in Perl, C, C++, and Java
- Experience with AJAX, CSS, Javascript
- Experience with Flash programming
- Knowledge of relational database concepts
- Familiarity with current trends in Graphics Technology
